  • I-10, East of Beltway 8 to East of Kirkwood
  • Reconstruction of 1.99 Miles to an Eight to Ten-Lane Divided Urban Freeway Facility
  • Reconstruction of 14 Bridges/Connectors
  • 51 Months Duration
  • $250 Million Low Bid Received July 8, 2004
    • Contract awarded to Williams Brothers Construction Company
  • Construction Officially Began August 2004
    • First 2 Years of Construction will be Dedicated to I-10 Main Lanes Expansion
    • Construction of the Beltway 8 Direct Connectors will Begin January 2007
  • Traffic Requirements During Construction
    • Maintain Existing Number of Mainlanes during Peak Periods
    • Maintain Local Access Across Corridor
    • Maintain Existing HOV in Operation
    • Maintain Current ITS Operations
      • Variable Message Signs, Cameras, Ramp Meters, etc.
    • Direct Connectors will be Closed Two at a Time with Accelerated Construction Required to Minimize Downtime
