Record of Decision

On January 14, 2002, the Federal Highway Administration handed its Record of Decision (ROD) to the Texas Department of Transportation-Houston District, approving the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program. The ROD is an important milestone, because it is required prior to non-hardship right-of-way acquisition and final freeway design. Construction of the $2.8 billion project began June 28, 2003.
